Silver and Roses, Henna and Myrrh

Sun and Moon, Heaven and Earth

To Thy Mercy

Me suitor at thy drawbridge though I ‘fess,

Thine arx besieging with the arms of love,

Observe we camaraderie ne’er less,

Nor for a trifle vilipend the dove.

Arraigning, let me first myself arraign

Within the foam-born  dempster’s lovely court,

And of mine own contúmely complain,

Announcing forth mine own ungracious tort.

Within the drapes of thy more clement gown

Find thou a station for my humbled head,

Transfiguring the crossness of thy frown,

Acknowledging o’erweening now gainsaid.

I love thee let my sternness not belie,

Herein discountenanced and made to sigh.
