Silver and Roses, Henna and Myrrh

Sun and Moon, Heaven and Earth

To My Chosen

Like hind to hart, a lady to her lord,

Like eagless to her tiercel, does belong,

Like glove to hand, like scabbard unto sword,

Wherefore I sing to thee this mating song.

Like Moon to Sun, a woman to her man.

Is bound by ancient, sylvan law and rite,

Like sea to land, by sacramental bann,

Like smoke to fire, like darkness unto light.

Like morn to eve, like Spring to murrey Fall,

A Queen unto her King is made the bride,

Like snow unto the lofty mountain wall,

Like tumbling rivers to the ocean wide.

Like Mother Nature to our Father, God,

Give mine entreaty thine e’erlasing nod.
